Hi, my name is Lisa and I am a humanist celebrant accredited by Humanists UK, working in the West Midlands and the surrounding regions.
My background in teaching has prepared me well for this role! If you invite me to be your celebrant you can be sure you're working with someone who is a confident public speaker with lots of experience managing diverse groups of people. After years in the classroom I know how to remain calm and respectful, even when the pressure is on, and above all I am someone who will work hard to listen to what you want and create the ceremony that really matters to you.
I don’t come with a set of preconceived ideas or expectations. I know that we all want to celebrate our big moments in different ways - some of us want to include our family and friends, for others it's our logical family or the key guests are our pets! I will work with whatever and whoever is important to you.
Because I can conduct ceremonies at unlicensed venues you have complete freedom to hold your ceremony in a space that is meaningful for you - up a mountain, on a beach, in your own garden... anywhere you have the owner's permission is fine.
I celebrated my civil partnership over 10 years ago and I realised that day just how important ceremonies are in our lives and how crucial it is to mark those really special moments just the way you want to. I became a celebrant because I really want to enable other couples to plan, create and then thoroughly enjoy the day that they want, just the way they want it.
